Ada S Cheung

A/Prof Ada Cheung is a clinician scientist; endocrinologist, NHMRC/Dame Kate Campbell Research Fellow at The University of Melbourne. A/Prof Cheung established and leads the Trans Health Research Group at The University of Melbourne which aims to improve the health and well-being of the transgender and gender diverse community. Her research has had significant impact, leading to the development of new gender clinics in Victoria, a statewide training program for health professionals and national guidelines on hormone therapy. Her commitment to co-design to improve trans health was recognised with the GLOBE LGBT Ally of the Year and one of Cosmos Magazine’s remarkable and inspirational women in Australian science. She was awarded the University of Melbourne Excellence in Engagement for Public Value Award as an avid science communicator engaging extensively with mainstream media, social media and international federations to guide trans health-related policy.
